Presenting your work
11/16/16
Once you’ve created a print portfolio, you’re going to want to show it. Getting in the door to make your presentation is not always easy. Improve your chances by joining the local chapter of a trade organization like the AIGA (if you’re a graphic designer) to network with others in your trade. When you do get invited to present, make sure to maximize the potential outcome by learning about who will be interviewing you and the organization she works for. If possible, bring a sample or a brochure that you can leave behind so the interviewer can contact you at a later date. And, though this may seem old fashioned, writing a thank-you note (on paper, with a stamp) is never a bad idea.
